At least talk to a doctor about it never hurts to see something. Rather be sure to regret if it is a sign of something and you expect too much time that could be too late. Now you have where you can make a phone call to a doctor and many times if it's just a question you're not charged Talk to your PC. Antidepressants are a cause of bruises, but it is a very unusual place. Especially in your column. God luck & God bless me too! I have an oval-shaped bruise in the middle of my back (no trauma) and a lot of red spots on it. How strange. Hi, Liz, although I'm not sure what exactly causes your bruise, I'll share that I also had bruises all over my column, but without an obvious acute injury like a fall. I'm 40 years old by the way. I realized that every time I sat down and leaned on a hard chair, my column to my trunk and any bone in the buttocks would hurt me. I felt better when I got up, so I never thought of causing damage. I realized that the bruising worsened the more I sat in hard chairs (not even so hard, really flat cushioning chairs bothered me too) and continued longer than I did not stay away from sitting on hard surfaces. I started sitting alone in comfortable chairs with enough cushion or stood up if there is no other option, and the bruises started disappearing and now they're gone. It was rare that something so small and not hurt so much that it would cause such bruise when I had never been easily beaten before, but it seemed to be the cause. This caused bright multicolored bruises: purple, blue, yellow, red, simply a disaster – it seemed to be in a car accident or something. I'm very tilted, so things hurt my bones easily. A tip that I use is using thick hooded sweaters and sweatshirts helps protect the spine when it sits and also protects the hip bones from pain in the case of hitting on a counter or something, but that rarely happens. However, I'm already hot all the time, so this makes me even more uncomfortable, so I only wear the thick pork clothes when I leave the house, like the medical appointments where I know I have to sit in a waiting room. I don't want to bring cushions everywhere. I feel like I've gotten into people's path or like I'm thinking, "Your chairs aren't good enough for me, hmph!", so it's no big deal for me to stand up. I live in South Florida and have fun for doctors not to dress up for the season, or to dress up as a depressed person they say (whatever it means, when I have gone through deep depressions, I dressed as usual, but whatever it is). So maybe you'll pay attention if your mattress or chairs are too firm? But obviously you should ask your doctor. Good luck. Oh, you just noticed it was July 2019. I'm sorry. Well, I hope you help the best or help others.hello in my left leg I have a scratch and his red and purple what doses does it mean.. Hey, Emily, thank you for coming. Thanks for coming -Jake Hey, I have ulcerative colitis, high liver count, chronic kidney disease, and a lot of bruises on my lower and upper legs... Have you ever found out what this was? I am a "relatively" healthy 30-yo woman. I've always hit it easy. I'm always a little anemic, I have a little overweight, and I have trigeminal neuralgia. I noticed painful bruising under my eyes on my cheekbones for the last 2wks. Having atypical TN affects my second and third branch, I'm used to feeling some pain under my right eye, but I've never had bilateral pain and I've never had bruises. I know for a fact that I was beaten or hurt anyway. I thought it was lighting or maybe even a flute but pain/wheel hasn't gone. Are you suggesting you see my primary family medicine doctor or my neurologist? My neurologist is one of only 3 in my county and is booked months in advance so I would hate to waste your time if this is a problem that cannot help.... I can call him and ask of course, but I looked for my theme and this post came up. Thank you in advance! We cannot provide medical advice on this platform. My suggestion would be to call your primary care provider and direct your questions with him or her. Thank you. Adam What is it about fish oil or vitamin E that can cause this? At least a little. The best wishes, Angelai'm 28 and just realized that the same thing happens from nothing (two weird bruises.) ... I sleep on my left side but in the last few days I could not help accidentally hit some new (not huge) boot heels against a hard bed frame. I want the best! makes sense that my muscles suck; I don't work and anemia doesn't help, but can someone guess why I'm bruising in my arms (in addition to bed fashions)? Hello Lane, We arrived at an oncology/hematology nurse on our team and here was your advice:"Sometimes the bruises come out of nowhere because we don't always notice when or if we bumped into something or they caught someone or worked outside (sometimes new activities – like the courtyard after a long winter of "doing anything") now bring pained muscles or blows/wheels without even realizing it. If the bruise persists or enlarges without any obvious reason, it is better to see your primary care provider or urgent care. I hope that helps! – Jake I have a sudden witch on the back of my thigh. The bruise is multicolored, with purple, blue, green, gray and yellow areas as if it were trying to heal but somehow the bleeding that causes it to continue to occur. I wonder what he's causing. I also have the same bruise in the same location. No pain or discomfort. Do you have a diagnosis? She finally left? Mike, he's gone, but only three more weeks after I published here, and he's healed at a very slow pace. All together, that bruise was there for more than two months until it was healed. There's no diagnosis so far, my doctor's a little confused about the whole thing. He had some blood tests, ultrasound, and chest X-rays, he was told to see a gastroenterologist and schedule a colonoscopy, but he couldn't get an appointment before May, and in the meantime everything went away. I began to notice that it began to grow, and as this happened, it became another 1 in the same exact place in my left leg. About a month later another 1 appeared on my lower right arm and then some smaller on my legs and thighs. Over time it grows and puts light in the middle with a darker circle around and a little brown. Sometimes it gets lighter but doesn't want to leave. I don't have any other symptoms. Thank you. Hi Kauthar. I think I have the same problem. I'm dying to know if you've discovered what it is. I've searched everywhere online, and I can't find anything that seems to represent the problem I have. I went to the doctor just when I noticed it, and they thought it was a bug bite and they prescribed me an anti-inflammatory cream, but it hasn't been working. I don't think it's a bug bite because it's been growing so long since then, too. Do you have any answers? Sounds like you have what's called Pityriasis rosea. Hi, my 31-year-old partner, woke up this morning with bruises at the bottom of the legs, both getting bigger but not hurt. Hi. I wonder if you can know why my whole leg and left foot, from hip to finger, is red and concussed and painful? He came with food poisoning about five days ago. This leg is usually swollen with edema, worse than right, I am hypothyroid, in medications for that and morphine. Symptoms don't seem to count but definitely connected, it hasn't happened before. Also the sole of the foot and the affected heel. She ended up going to the ER at night and realized bruises in her upper groin area. You have no idea how they got there. The pain went away but lost muscle strength and now you can't move that leg to the right without using your hand to place it there. I fell again and put my hands to stop and appeared on my two wrists.. Any idea what it would be and why? Stop hitting your son to start. I said I fucked up, he didn't slap me. I also experience internal pain to the hole in my stomach and on the left side of my ribs sometimes. At first I thought the brand just came from my bra discoloring my skin, but now it's dark blue and purple, and it's started to grow. I've been to the doctors for my internal pain, but not the bruise. If you are a Marshfield Clinic Health System patient, you or your parent or guardian can send a message to your doctor at My Marshfield Clinic: . -Kirstie Hello – I've been getting tiny purple bruises when I've definitely not hit anything. Last year, I had a very swollen ankle and a blood test suggested that it was a DVT but when they scanned my leg in the hospital, there was no DVT (thankfully). Now that I'm still getting the little purple bruises, I wondered if everything could indicate something that happens with my blood and these symptoms could be related. Is there a medical condition that can cause a bruise to leave a permanent mark (we call it permabruise) on the skin once the bruise has been clarified or gone? Hi, Elzbet. I'm gonna get some of our suppliers and see if they have any thoughts. In the meantime, you can find useful information about our healing story: And, if you're worried about your bruise, it's important that you talk to your doctor. -KirstieHello, Elzbet. One of our hematology/oncology practitioners said: "I am not aware of permanent marks after bruising. This does not mean that it is not a real phenomenon, but it is not my area of experience. "He mentioned that dermatology was possibly a good resource for you, and added, "The skin is such a dynamic organ that some bruises can be rash, discoloration of other anomalies, or caused by trauma that the person does not remember even happened. It should be very frustrating for some people who do not have insurance or a primary care provider to keep hearing, 'Go see your doctor', but sincerely, these areas of the skin need to be visualized and a full health history needs to be taken. Therapies or herbal supplements can also cause bruises or interactions with medicines that people do not notice. That is why it is important that these concerns be transmitted to a primary care provider. It is not responsible for us to provide contextless suggestions. "Best wishes, and thank you for reading Shine365. -Kirstie10 bruises on me and know for a fact that I didn't hit anything Hello, I'm a 28-year-old male who's not in any medication, but is currently getting bruises on my legs. The nose bleeds and is a painful nit at all. I wonder if I hit him while he squeezed a grain, but it's never happened before. It's right at the tip of my nose. If I care. Looks like I smelled something and left a dirty mark. Hey, did you figure out what caused the bruise? I have exactly the same in my nose now. I'm 18 and I'm experiencing severe bruises covering my legs, hips, and sometimes my stomach. I was diagnosed with chronic idiopathic urticaria and the doctor is assuming that they appear due to the urticaries I receive daily. I was tested for leukemia and the results were negative. The bruises are not painful, but uncomfortable and spicy. Any recommendations on a different type of doctor to see? Or any other potential cause? Hi, Bailey. I haven't had health insurance since my ex divorced me after taking everything I had. The back is terribly hard to see, I use a mirror with a mirror. A while ago, I have noticed many (like 4) small "wheels" or discolorations on my upper back. Maybe the size of a nickel. Every time I checked, they're there. He had a collision head in 1993 and three slide discs, one was eliminated (C4-5). I still have to remove C5-6 and T/L. Could this discoloration be the results of the slided disks? I hear cracks all the time and I feel them on my back. Hi, Nancy. We cannot give individualized medical advice on our blog. I talked to one of our neurologists. She said – in general – there is not usually a relationship between bruising/discoloration and a disc.-Kirstie What is the point of having the blog if you are not giving individual advice to people? If your answer to everyone is going to be to see your doctor then this whole site is a waste of existing lol. People obviously came to this place thinking they'd have real answers and you told them to see their doctor as if they didn't think about it? All I've read as answers are things that I, like 19 years old without a medical school, could have told these people. These people want real answers, real things HELPFUL. They don't want to hear "see your doctor" as that's a dice. I'm assuming you have a medical school background so how about you're helpful and give educated additions to what might be wrong if people coming to this blog ask for help. From what I see, ALL this blog is telling people is to see a doctor or tell people to be one of their patients, which I hope none of them took that offer by seeing how their clinic really doesn't care about people, they care about collecting that insurance. You're wasting people's time and you should feel embarrassed. Honestly, people who communicate with each other seem to have better answers than you. If you really care about people and their well-being then you would provide answers, even if they're wrong they'd at least be educated guesses. (that's what people want, if they've all got the lead). I'm surprised no one has said anything yet, this blog is a joke like the people who handle it. Not even a safe site anyway, so it's not just people who suffer with their health, but their computers are at risk for viruses from this site, the nice and oh so useful. So I have different shapes and colored bruises all over my legs, one leg is worse than the other. There's no reason for them to be there like I didn't get hurt. Another question is whether abortion was spontaneous or planned: If it is spontaneous, with new unusual bruises, you need to see a primary care provider or OB/GYN, as these may be symptoms of an underlying bleeding/cloth disorder. If abortion was planned, the question could be whether the bruise was related to any posture he had during the procedure. You should check these bruises, and be seen by a provider for additional health history and work. To all of you who have concerns about inexplicable bruises... it can be a sign of candida (yeast) growth in your system or an underlying bacterial infection... both will cause random bruises on the skin. If you eat wheat, make sure that the product does not contain yeast... also avoid all aged cheeses, chocolate, citric acid (it is made with aspergillus mold), tartar cream, malted barley flour... and basically any fermented product because fermentation makes yeast grow rampant. Also... use patchouli oil and bergamot oil... these 2 essential oils in particular are antifungal and when applied topically to the skin (only several drops a day) will kill the bacteria candida albicans internally. In addition, take a teaspoon of coconut oil daily... only pressed without refining and cold (do not buy anything else because it will contain chemicals and do not buy MCT oil because the acid lauric has been eliminated). In addition, take 500 mg (a capsule) of cinnamon bark extract daily... only the Solaray brand because it is cinnamon verum (cigar cynamon)... Don't take a lodge cinnamon! If you follow this regime, the inexplicable bruises will stop. Candida is very serious and can grow to proportions of magnitude in the body when it reaches a certain level... thus avoiding all yeasts and moulds in fermented foods. I hope I've been helpful to all of you. There are also some of them on the back of the lower right leg. I have no idea how they got there. It's the weirdest thing because everyone looks the same and they're very close. Has anyone else had anything similar? I experienced something similar when we moved to a different house. I had these strange long bruises, thin and similar to the line through my upper thighs. Multiple bruises in different healing stages. Now I've grown easily but I was worried about the repeated bruise because I had a sister with ITP as a child. Then one day he literally hit me, when he was running from the baby's room to the kitchen " he ran to the dining room table. I had been running every night when I was taking care of the baby but my private sleep mind didn't remember what happened in the morning. I moved the table on 6" to the left " the bruises finally healed. I have the same problem. My right leg around. Im 36 & will not leave, I am very insecure about them. You went to the doctor? I had it both, but the left side went. I didn't hit him and I did the weirdest thing I've ever had for a month. So I've been experiencing some bruises on my lower legs, the upper thighs, the inner thighs, the outer thighs, my back, my neck and my sides of my abdominal region. I was wondering if you could have a reason for all these bruises. I don't remember finding anything either because I have a very low pain tolerance, so I would have known if I ran into something. How you can get another bruise on top of a bruise. Hi, Noah. I shared your question with Candy. She said, "There are many hairs on the skin, so although a bruise is evident, if the same area is hit again or the capillaries do not completely heal from the first damage, the bruise may appear as if it were a "ruid in a bruise." I would associate this with an event where the area is repeatedly damaged – that is: frequent or repetitive labor duties, athletes who use equipment, or if the tissue is friable and cannot be completely healed due to poor healing of wounds or some use of medicines (such as aspirin or thinner use of the blood or steroids that can reduce the skin). If this happens frequently, it should be evaluated by a medical professional. Hi, it's been happening all the time I can remember, sometimes in my dream, inexplicable itching that doesn't leave and I can't stop scratching, just in my upper thighs and behind my knees. Sometimes I will wake up and notice these great bruises CRAZYYYYYYYYYYYYY and I am aware that it is to scratch the bc sometimes you can see where my fingernails were constantly digging. Fortunately I have sunnails on, so I'm not cutting my skin, but that's also happened. And it's like once I start scratching, I literally can't stop and my legs get hot. What throws me out is when I do it while I sleep. I think I'm a little anemic about what I remember. I weighed around 97 pounds and I'm at the beginning of 20. Idk what I could take into account, so I'm just pulling that I ended up on this website because I woke up this morning with bruises in my abdomen. But it was not preceded by any pain or itching as when I get into my size or fingers or fingers. And I've never had a bruise in my abdomen without injury. Anyway, I also put this in my thighs and it feels like you say. The bruise is preceded by the mad beak. My thought also seems like someone has fucked me up. So I can say it's spontaneous ecchymoses. My doctor hasn't been worried because I have Ehlers Danlos. It gets worse with some things, like many nuts, vitamin E or D. Hope that helps. Wow, the same exact thing here. Have you been with the doctor to find out the cause? My first thought is your laundry routine. I noticed similar symptoms a long time ago, and since I started rinsing my clothes (especially PJs because you're in them for a long period of time with tissue right against the skin). I will often add vinegar (a cup or so white vinegar) to the first rinse, then the second rinse to rinse the vinegar. Cut all the soap residue and lower the drainage. This also applies to your sheets and your towels; we do not realize the contact we have with these, and rinsing every type of detergent helped me enormously. Another thought is the possibility of an overgrowth of the candidacy (yeste), as well as causing a vaginal infection, but the vaginal is more local. If it's a skin yeast "infection" you might try to take Acidophilus caplets, yeast doesn't like it.
